Your New Role: Step into the spotlight as a key player in the People and Culture team. This six month contract will place you right in the thick of a fast moving retail business where no two days look the same. You’ll collaborate with leaders across departments to foster a people-first culture and drive impactful HR strategies.
From guiding performance conversations to driving team development, you’ll have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and make a real difference. Reporting to the GM People and Culture, you’ll bring the smarts and strategic thinking needed to keep people practices sharp and future-ready.
What You Will Be Looking After: - Building trusted relationships with leaders across Australia and New Zealand to align people strategies with business objectives
- Providing clear and confident advice on employee relations matters including performance management, disciplinary issues, terminations and grievances
- Managing industrial relations responsibilities including interpreting enterprise agreements, liaising with unions and ensuring compliance with IR legislation
- Keeping policies and procedures up to date and compliant with current legislation and best practice standards
- Monitoring and interpreting changes to modern awards and providing timely advice to managers and stakeholders
- Leading and coordinating annual salary reviews and benchmarking in consultation with the GM People and Culture
- Championing a culture of safety by working closely with WHS teams to support compliance and drive awareness
- Supporting HR strategic planning and contributing to the delivery of initiatives that enhance the employee experience and operational effectiveness
- Coaching leaders on best practice HR to build capability and encourage confident people leadership across the business
The Experience Checklist: - Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
- 4+ years of generalist HR or business partnering experience, ideally in retail or a similarly fast-paced, customer-led environment such as hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of Modern Awards, EBAs and Fair Work legislation
- Demonstrated ER/IR experience with the ability to resolve complex issues with sensitivity and professionalism
- A commercial mindset paired with a collaborative and proactive approach
- High attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to balance compliance with care
