As Grocery Department Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of the Grocery department, ensuring outstanding availability, presentation, stock control and customer service.
Working closely with the Store Manager and leadership team, you'll drive commercial performance while coaching and developing a motivated team to deliver exceptional results every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the Grocery department
- Coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team
- Drive department sales, profitability and key performance indicators
- Maintain exceptional merchandising, replenishment and presentation standards
- Manage inventory, stock control, ordering and waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety, store standards and company procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service while resolving customer enquiries
- Build a positive, engaged and accountable team culture
You'll be a hands-on leader who enjoys leading from the front and creating a department that customers love to shop.
You'll bring:
- Previous leadership experience within supermarkets, grocery or large-format retail
- Experience as a Grocery Department Manager, Grocery Manager, Duty Manager, Assistant Store Manager or a high-performing Grocery Team Leader
- Strong knowledge of grocery operations, replenishment and inventory management
- Proven ability to drive sales, manage labour and achieve departmental KPIs
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A customer-first mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional shopping experiences
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
