Step into a leadership role with real purpose, managing one of the organisation’s flagship supermarket operations across remote Northern Australia.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced retail management couple with strong supermarket, FMCG or community retail experience to oversee a large-scale grocery operation that plays an essential role within the local community.
This is not a general retail role. We are specifically looking for leaders who understand supermarket operations, stock flow, availability, fresh food standards, compliance, team leadership and the importance of running a store that the community relies on every day.
The Opportunity
As the leadership couple of a flagship remote community supermarket, you will oversee the end-to-end performance of a major retail site, driving operational excellence, team engagement, stock availability and community impact.
Your focus will include:
• Managing all aspects of a high-volume supermarket / grocery operation
• Leading, coaching and developing Duty Managers and local team members
• Driving strong standards across grocery, fresh, general merchandise and store presentation
• Managing stock ordering, stock control, stock rotation, availability and shrinkage
• Maintaining compliance across food safety, workplace health and safety and store procedures
• Driving profitability, wage control and financial accountability
• Supporting training, development and succession planning within the team
• Building positive relationships across culturally diverse remote communities

About You
You will be an experienced retail management couple with a strong background in supermarket, FMCG or remote community retail.
You may come from:
• Independent supermarkets
• Remote community retail
• Large-format FMCG/Supermarket retail environments
You will bring:
• Proven experience managing supermarket or FMCG retail operations
• Strong understanding of stock ordering, inventory control, merchandising and store standards
• Experience leading multi-department teams in a hands-on retail environment
• Confidence managing wages, KPIs, sales, shrinkage and profitability
• Strong food safety, compliance and operational discipline
• A people-focused leadership style with the ability to coach and develop others
• Resilience, adaptability and genuine interest in remote community living
• Full Australian working rights, as this role does not support sponsorship
