ABOUT THE ROLE
As Department Manager – Deli & Chilled Goods, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of a busy department while remaining hands-on with your team and customers. You’ll play an important role in maintaining high standards across the Deli & Chilled Goods department, supporting your team and ensuring the department operates smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting the Deli & Chilled Goods team on the shop floor
- Delivering exceptional customer service and product knowledge
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, quality and food safety
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the department
- Supporting team performance, training and development
- Taking ownership when senior managers are not on site
- Working closely with the wider leadership team to achieve store targets
- Being hands-on and leading by example
We’re looking for someone who is energetic, confident and genuinely enjoys working with people and great food.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in Deli, Chilled Goods, grocery or hospitality is preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in
- A genuine passion for food and quality products
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment
- A positive, team-focused approach
- $70-75k per annum based on experience
