Join a leading large-format home improvement and garden retail store in Rotorua. The business is known for its wide range of gardening products, plants, and home improvement solutions, offering customers expert advice, quality products, and a high-performing shopping experience. The garden department is a key revenue driver, contributing significantly to store profitability.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of 7, driving sales, team performance, and operational excellence.
- Manage the garden zone, which takes up about ¼ of the store floor and is one of the highest-grossing departments.
- Apply your plant knowledge to educate your team and support customers, ensuring healthy, thriving stock at all times.
- Build strong relationships with customers, helping them make confident choices about plants, gardening products, and solutions.
- Solid retail leadership experience, preferably managing a department within a large format retailer.
- Expert plant knowledge applied in a retail environment is preferred, however, not essential. Passion for plants/garden is a non-negotiable.
- A natural people person with strong coaching skills and the ability to engage customers.
- Salary $70-75K per annum
