The Role:
Seeking a Commercial Manager to drive success and profitability for the high-end Beauty, Watches, and Jewellery portfolio. This involves P&L management, negotiation with luxury houses to secure optimal commercial terms, margins, and supply agreements, and leading local sourcing to onboard premium brands.
The role requires optimising space productivity, supporting world-class shop layout design, and securing exclusive travel-retail launches tailored to set demographics. Critical to success is effective cross-functional partnership with Marketing and Retail Operations for promotions, category insights, and seamless collaboration with Supply Chain and Global Commercial teams. The Category Manager also performs regular performance analysis, monitoring sales, inventory, and margin health, and using data-driven assortment planning and lifecycle strategies.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Category Management/Buying Expertise: Proven background in Category Management or Buying, with a preference for experience in the Beauty sector or high-end FMCG/Retail.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Demonstrated success in complex vendor relationship management and negotiating with major suppliers.
- Analytical Foundation: Experience and historical ability to conduct deep analysis of margin and performance data.
- Independent and Collaborative Work Style: Capability to serve as the sole Category Lead, working independently while also collaborating effectively with the wider commercial team.
- Leadership Communication: Exceptional ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and present strategic insights clearly to senior leadership.
