THE ROLE
As a Butcher, you’ll play an important role in delivering a high-quality fresh food experience for customers. Your technical butchery skills will be essential, but this role is about more than working behind the counter. You’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with customers, share your knowledge and help them make the most of their products.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Preparing and presenting high-quality meat and maintaining excellent product standards
- Using strong technical butchery skills across a range of cuts
- Providing customers with knowledgeable advice around cuts, preparation and cooking methods
- Creating an engaging and welcoming customer experience
- Maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, food safety and hygiene
- Working collaboratively with the wider store team
- Being hands-on and contributing to the overall success of the department
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong butchery skills and experience — this is essential
- Previous experience in a butcher, deli, fresh food or premium retail environment
- A genuine passion for quality food and produce
- A confident and engaging customer service style
- The ability to connect with customers and share cooking and preparation advice
- A hands-on, reliable and team-focused approach
- High standards around quality, presentation and service
