The Opportunity:
This is not your standard supermarket butchery role. You’ll be part of a team repositioning the meat department to feel more like a neighbourhood butcher, focused on quality, product knowledge, and genuine customer interaction. It’s a hands-on role where your craft, personality, and ability to engage customers all matter. You’ll be involved in:
- Preparing and presenting premium cuts to a consistently high standard
- Setting up and maintaining an exceptional retail counter each day
- Light production for in-store offerings (sausages, burgers, ready-to-cook lines)
- Providing tailored recommendations and building rapport with regular customers
- Managing deliveries, breakdown, and ensuring minimal wastage
- Creating a weekend offer that feels elevated, abundant, and worth the visit
- Proven butchery experience, either within premium supermarkets or independent butchers
- Strong knife skills and product knowledge across a range of cuts
- A genuine passion for customer experience, not just production
- Someone who takes pride in presentation and standards
- A team player who can also work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
