Operating in a high-demand, high-volume tourist destination, they are seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to take full ownership of their baking operations, elevate product quality, and lead a dedicated team.
Who You Are
- Trade-Qualified: Holds formal certifications in retail/commercial baking with proven hands-on experience
- Production Leader: Demonstrated experience managing kitchen workflow, scaling production schedules, and leading daily bake runs
- People Developer: A confident team leader skilled at mentoring apprentices, coaching staff, and building a strong, collaborative kitchen culture
- Standards-Driven: Highly competent in kitchen financials (Wastage, COGS, labor management) and obsessed with food safety, hygiene, and product consistency
- Lifestyle Ready: Excited to embrace an island setting and comfortable working early-morning production shifts, weekends, and holiday rosters
- Production Management: Oversee all daily bake operations, recipe adherence, yield management, and quality control from mixing to final bake
- Team Leadership: Train, schedule, and direct trade bakers, apprentices, and kitchen hands to maintain peak efficiency
- Inventory & Ordering: Manage ingredient ordering, stock rotation, supplier relationships, and waste minimisation strategies
- Operational Excellence: Enforce strict food safety compliance and conduct regular kitchen maintenance checks
- Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house management to align daily production targets with retail demand
