This is your chance to join an established Australian owned retail business operating within the travel space. With a growing national store network and a customer experience built around genuine service, trusted advice and memorable interactions, this brand supports customers as they prepare for their next adventure.
This is a business where standards matter, but so does the way you lead. You will be joining a supportive, service-led retail environment where coaching, consistency and store capability sit at the heart of the role.
Your New Role:
As the new Area Manager, you will partner closely with Store Managers to drive performance across people, service, operations and compliance.
This is a field-based role for someone who enjoys being connected to the store environment. You will spend your time in stores, understanding what is happening day to day, coaching leaders through challenges and helping each location operate smoothly and consistently.
You will be a key support across the region, using store visits, performance conversations and practical coaching to improve team confidence, customer experience and commercial outcomes.
What You Will Get Up To:
- Lead a portfolio of stores across Melbourne’s North and North West, with responsibility for performance, consistency and leadership capability across the region.
- Partner with Store Managers to drive strong commercial outcomes across sales, service, labour, customer experience, compliance and operational execution.
- Use P&L, budgets, wage control, trading results and store reporting to identify opportunities, shape priorities and guide regional performance conversations.
- Spend regular time in stores to stay close to the customer experience, understand team capability and ensure each location is operating to a strong standard.
- Build commercially confident Store Managers through clear coaching, practical feedback and leadership conversations that drive ownership at store level.
- Maintain consistency across internal processes, compliance, presentation, service standards and operational routines across the portfolio.
- Share regional insights with senior leaders, including performance trends, commercial opportunities, people capability and areas of business focus.
- Work the occasional Saturday where needed to stay connected to customer-facing trade, weekend operations and store leadership.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Area Manager, Regional Manager or equivalent field leadership role overseeing a store portfolio.
- A background in service led retail, travel, premium customer service, consultative sales or another high-touch customer environment.
- Previous accountability for regional P&L, budgets, wage control, sales performance and commercial reporting.
- Strong experience leading through influence, with the confidence to work with established Store Managers and senior stakeholders.
- A proven ability to balance commercial performance, compliance, operational standards and customer experience across multiple locations.
- A leadership style that is credible, calm, commercially aware and comfortable holding people accountable without micromanaging.
- Strong business rhythm across store visits, reporting, planning, communication and follow-through.
- A current driver’s licence and flexibility to travel across the store network and interstate when required.
