This senior leadership role sits within a large-format building and construction supplies business that supports trade professionals, contractors, and commercial operators across the region. You will take ownership of a key division and be responsible for commercial performance, operational standards, customer relationships, and strategic growth, while working closely with the CEO on direction and priorities.

What You’ll Do - Lead the Trade division to achieve strong commercial and service outcomes
- Build trusted relationships with builders, contractors, and suppliers
- Represent the business across the local community and industry networks
- Develop strategies to grow revenue, market share, and customer loyalty
- Oversee stock, procurement, pricing, and operational standards
- Ensure strong compliance and safety practices
- Lead, mentor, and develop a capable team
- Partner with the CEO on business planning and key initiatives
About You You’re an experienced leader with strong knowledge of building materials, construction supplies, timber, hardware, or similar trade environments.
You will bring: - Proven leadership in trade or construction supply
- Strong commercial capability in pricing, margins, and planning
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship skills
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, large-format environment
- Confidence operating at both strategic and operational levels
- A tertiary qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role preferred.
Community & Industry Engagement A key part of this role is being active within the Nelson/Tasman building and construction community. You’ll build local networks, strengthen partnerships, and help position the business as the supplier of choice for trade and construction projects.
