About the Role

As the Deli Department Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy deli within a large-format supermarket environment. You’ll be responsible for leading your team, driving high standards of food presentation, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Your role will include:

• Overseeing deli operations including stock control, ordering and inventory management
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
• Training, coaching and developing your team
• Ensuring product quality, merchandising and display excellence
• Managing rosters, labour costs and department profitability
• Serving customers with warmth, efficiency and product knowledge

What We’re Looking For 

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Retail experience, ideally within FMCG or supermarket environments
• Previous experience in deli operations or fresh food departments (highly desirable)
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a small team
• A hands-on, customer-first approach
• Excellent organisational, time-management and communication skills
• A positive attitude and passion for creating an exceptional in-store experience
