The Role:

Seeking a Lead Mechanic to run & improve the Australian Assembly line that supports our direct sales from the Melbourne & Sydney brand stores + eCommerce. The position will be based in North Melbourne & will offer opportunities to travel to Sydney to work with the teams here. As the head of the department, you will report directly into the Sales & Management Lead as well as be in regular contact with the Directors based in Europe. Responsible for a team of 2-4 mechanics, you will have had a minimum of 2 years experience in a Head Mechanic position. We are looking for someone dynamic in the industry, with the ability to re-develop procedures & optimize the Mechanical side of LEKKER bikes to a higher level.

  • Lead a team of up to 2-4 Bike Mechanics in the Workshop
  • Coach your team to build a culture of exceptional customer service for the range of Bicycles & E-Bikes
  • A strong understanding of previous & current ranges + take the lead in attending regular training workshops
  • Taking part in the development of the LEKKER Bikes collection
  • Manage stock-flow & operational duties such as the ordering of parts & billing suppliers
  • Health & Safety management for staff, along with checking assembled products safety
  • Communicate repair & maintenance needs to customers with specific timeframes
  • Provide cost projections after identifying issues 
  • Organise pick up & or ship out service to customers 
  • Maintenance of inventory & ensuring the workshop is tidy for H&S matters
Your Qualities:
  • 3+ years experience within the Cycling industry
  • Approx 2+ years experience running a Workshop
  • Leadership qualities - know how to motivate a tight-knit crew 
  • Customer-focused, able to walk the talk based on your passion for trends & bicycles
  • A humble, down to earth attitude where no job is too big or too small
  • Computer proficient - excel a must to assist with ordering & scheduling
  • Australian permanent residency
