Merchandise Manager – Mens & Kidswear | Iconic Kiwi Retailer   

We’re partnering with one of New Zealand’s most loved and trusted retailers to recruit a Merchandise Manager to lead their menswear and kidswear categories. With a strong national footprint, loyal customer base, and continued growth across fashion and lifestyle, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-moving business that values quality, service, and community.

This is a high-impact, commercially focused leadership role - perfect for someone currently in a Senior Buyer role, ready to take the next step, or an experienced Merchandise Manager seeking a new challenge. You’ll have the chance to refresh and refocus the menswear category, while building continued momentum in kidswear. As part of the merchandise leadership team, you’ll shape strategy, drive smart trading decisions, and influence the future of two core areas of the business.

In this role, you’ll:

• Own and lead the merchandise strategy for menswear and kidswear
• Drive buying, planning, pricing, and trading decisions
• Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer insights
• Collaborate with planning, marketing, retail, and external suppliers
• Guide in-season trading and post-season analysis
• Build promotional plans that drive margin, sell-through, and visibility
• Foster strong vendor relationships and align with brand direction
• Lead and mentor a team of buyers, supporting growth and performance

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in Senior Buying and/or Merchandise Management in menswear (essential)
• Kidswear experience would be a bonus
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
• A customer-first approach to product and planning
• Confident communicator and collaborative leader
• Proactive, solutions-focused, and passionate about retail
