We’re proud to partner with the locally owned and operated large format retailer in Kapiti to find their next Merchandise Manager, a critical role that drives stock performance, margin, and product flow for one of the most trusted brands in NZ retail. You’ll be joining a tight-knit, down-to-earth leadership team in a store with incredible tenure, a strong reputation, and big goals.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on process improvement, reporting, and building strong supplier relationships - all while leading a passionate, cross-functional team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Owning stock file integrity, replenishment, and product availability
• Optimising margin, turnover, and clearance strategies
• Leading range planning and seasonal buying
• Partnering with the Store Manager and leadership team on strategy and execution
• Analysing data, improving systems, and preparing seasonal orders
• Supporting the SAP migration and driving operational improvement
• Managing and mentoring a team of 7 across stock, online orders, and stocktaking

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

• Are a natural at inventory and merchandise planning in a retail environment
• Have strong analytical skills and love using data to drive decisions
• Enjoy working collaboratively across ops, buying, and leadership teams
• Are confident working autonomously and can own your area end-to-end
• Have experience working with large stock volumes, ideally in large-format retail
• Have supplier relationship experience and enjoy continuous improvement
